My Mom has nearly fifty years experience as a mom. She has raised six kids, 340+ foster children, provided child care to single, working moms, and now, has 9 grandchildren. She deserves a reward for all the diapers she’s changed, the sleepless nights and messes she’s cleaned. I can’t even begin to imagine how exhausted she must have been for the 36 years she raised all of us! We never really thank our Moms for what they have sacrificed for us. There’s no medal for bravery, no pay cheque, no benefit or pension program. All there is is one little day set aside to celebrate the person responsible for bringing us into this world!
Mother’s Day is this Sunday, May 8th, 2016 (and it also happens to be my Mom’s birthday). Spoil your mom rotten! Don’t let her lift a finger unless it’s to call for a refill on the coffee, tea or wine. Prepare a nice meal or take her out for dinner to her favourite restaurant. Take her to a greenhouse and pick out a perennial that she can plant in the garden to remind her of her importance as your mom. Buy her a bouquet of her favourite flowers (you should know what they are by now!) and write a sweet card telling her how much you appreciate her. Celebrate all the mothers in your life -they deserve it!
My Mom is away this year (visiting her Mom!) so, we’ll celebrate another day. I will take the time to call her and, when we get together, I’ll be bringing her a big bunch of yellow Freesia – her favourite!
We’ll be open and taking orders for your mom all week as well as Sunday. Order early to get Mom’s favourite flowers as well as reserve a spot for delivery. Quantities are limited and available on a first come – first served basis. Happy Mother’s Day to all the Moms out there!
